We Are Looking For Outdoor Sports Photographers
We have several positions open (must be local to Harpers Ferry- within 30 miles)
Level 1 Photographer
Easiest – Requirements: Transportation to & from Harpers Ferry, a computer with SD card reader, high-speed internet. You should have some experience with photography / outdoor sports photography. We can provide a camera to the right candidate.
Location could vary but you will mostly be sitting just below Harpers Ferry along the C&O Canal. You will need to walk or bike to the designated spot and stay there for 2.5 – 3 hours. You will be taking photos of people rafting, kayaking and tubing on the river that look something like this:
You will be on dry land. You will need to bring food and water.
You should have a good DSLR that shoots at 12MP with a 200 – 300mm lens. We may be able to provide one to the right candidate. You will need a computer with SD card reader and high-speed internet. We will train you on how to upload all the photos you take to our website. Hours: 12-3 (3 hours) or 4-7 + 1 hour work from home uploading photos to our website.
Level 2 Photographer
Moderately difficult – Requirements: Transportation to & from Harpers Ferry, good water shoes, a computer with SD card reader, high-speed internet. You should have some experience with photography / outdoor sports photography.
In this position you will could be posted up somewhere along the Shenandoah in Harpers Ferry, depending on the water level. You may need to walk through ankle-deep water a very short distance to get to the right spot in the river to take photos. (You can take breaks on the shore.) You will be taking photos of people boating on the river that might look like this:
You will need to bring food and water.
You should have a good DSLR that shoots at 12MP w/ 200mm lens. We may be able to provide a camera and waterproof case to the right candidate. You should have a computer with SD card reader and high-speed internet. We will train you on how to upload all the photos you take to our website. Hours: 11:30-2:30 (3 hours) or 3:30-6:30 + 1 hour work from home uploading photos to our website.
Level 3 Photographer
Most difficult – Must Kayak. Requirements: Transportation to & from Harpers Ferry, kayak, paddle, PFD, helmet, good water shoes, a computer with SD card reader, high-speed internet. You should have some experience with photography / outdoor sports photography.
In this position you will paddle the Shenandoah in Harpers Ferry in a kayak and sit at Bull Falls for 3 hours. During lower water levels you will take pictures of rafts and kayaks at chute 3. During higher water levels you will take pictures of boats at Bull’s Tail. You will stay there for 3 hours and then upload all the pics. Surf & play at Bull Falls all you want, just watch for boats and shoot pics of every raft & ducky when they roll thru. You will be taking photos of people rafting, kayaking and canoeing on the river that look something like this:
You will need a good DSLR and 200-300mm lens. We may be able to provide a camera and waterproof case to the right candidate. You should have a computer with SD card reader and high-speed internet. We will train you on how to upload all the photos you take to our website. Hours: 10:30-1:30 at Bull Falls or 2:30-5:30 + 1 hour work from home uploading the photos to our website. We will train you on how to upload all the photos you take to our website. We may be able to help with shuttle to & from the river.
